Hjembu farm dates back to the 1700s where there has always been a love of nature and animals. The current owner acquired the property in 1981 and has invested heavily in providing locally produced food of high quality. The farm is a family business from three generations.
Everything on the farm is organic and the cattle and pigs always have lots of vegetables and bread as part of the diet and sheep frolic on large pastures. There are also horses, chickens, goats and rabbits. The farm is perfect for children of all ages.
The fields offer sweet, freshly picked strawberries and raspberries, fresh salads, fragrant and tasty spices and a variety of vegetables.
The farm processes and sells meat from livestock which is sold direct to customers and local restaurants, shops and large households across large parts of southern and eastern Norway.
Hjembu serves gourmet meals prepared by the farm's own chef with catering, classes, courses and family events.
