Bjugn is a coastal municipality and here as in much of the country otherwise constitute tombstones our biggest source group from the Iron Age. 450 tombstones are preserved in the landscape, and tells of a comprehensive settlement and activity here in this period.

There are relatively few graves of this type in Bjugn, and probably they are made especially prominent and powerful people in the Iron Age society.
