Hadeland Mining Museum is dedicated to the mines, rocks and minerals of the area who is a classic mining district. The area is famous for its exciting rocks and mineral occurrences. Guided tours and bat safari to the old zink mine.
Hadeland Mining Museum is dedicated to the mines, rocks and minerals of the area who is a classic mining district. The area is famous for its exciting rocks and mineral occurrences. Already in the early 16th century, iron ores mined at Grua were transported to a smelter in Hakadal a few miles south of Grua.
Hadeland Mining Museum is situated at the old farmstead Bråten who is located south of Grua railway station. The museum is open June-August (closed on Mondays). Guided tours to the old zink mine. For guided tours please contact the museum. Alteratively visitors are welcome to register at the museum before the tour. Please note that the mines are located 2 km from the museum.
