Overview

Tarva archipelago has an area of ​​approx. 14 km2, of which the inhabited Husøya is ca. 8 km2. The road from the harbor in the south to the north Valøya is about four kilometers long. It is said that Tarva have as many islets and rocks as there are days in the year.

Tarva is a paradoxical country, with bombs and artillery range on the outside (Karlsøya), and protected Landscape on the inside (Været). In the protected area is recorded 206 different plants. Mammals are harbor seals, gray seals and otters associated with the sea. The country's wand, mice, rats and hedgehogs.

It is observed over 100 bird species and found approx. 50 nesting species. Tarva is a paradise for "bird people".
