The Kings's road from Kyrkjestølen til Maristova

The King's Road : Kyrkjestølen - Maristova Take the bus to the Kyrkjestølen mountainfarm at Filefjell on the E16 approx. 65 km from the centre of Lærdal. This was the first passable road over Filefjell mountain pass, built in the 1790's by C.J.Hammer. There is a lovely view of the surrounding mountains, and the highest point is about 1250 m. above sealevel. The walk takes about 4 - 5 hours each way. You can return by buss from Maristova to the Centre of Lærdal.
