De flesta besöker Norges fjordar och fjäll på sommaren, men det finns flera anledningar att vänta till hösten.

Upplev den sagolika naturen i lugn och ro, utan att behöva trängas. Det är lite svalare och våtare, såklart, men vad gör det när landskapet målas i rött, gult och orange. Många turister har gett sig av, men norrmännen själva ger sig gärna ut i skog och fjäll, och det finns mycket att göra både längs kusten och i städerna. Och framför allt finns det många miljövänliga aktiviteter, som påverkar de lokala ekosystemen minimalt.

En hållbar livsstil blir allt viktigare för norrmännen, och många orter har blivit certifierade som miljövänliga resmål. På World Tourism Day den 27 september utsågs Norge till ett av världens tio hållbaraste resmål av den brittiska webbsidan Verdict.

Här hittar du några miljövänliga höjdpunkter som passar utmärkt på hösten.

1. En färgglad cykeltur

Vill du maxa din Norgeupplevelse? Hyr en cykel och trampa dig genom några av landets allra vackraste platser.

Från höga berg och branta utförsbackar till flack stadsterräng – du lär hitta något som passar dig. Hösten bjuder dessutom ofta på bra cykelväder, speciellt i landets södra delar.

Cykelintresset är stort i Norge, så förutom att vara miljövänligt är det också ett bra sätt att få kontakt med lokalbefolkningen. Du kommer garanterat möta dem ute på vägarna.

Och om du gärna tar till lite hjälp upp för de brantaste backarna är det inget att skämmas över. Att hyra elcykel brukar vara både enkelt och billigt.

2. Vattensporter

När dagarna blir kortare och temperaturen faller är de bara de mest hängivna som hoppar i vattnet. Men det finns mycket annat att göra i de kristallklara sjöarna, älvarna och fjordarna.

Hitta lugnet på en kajaktur i någon av fjordarna, omgiven av fjäll och vattenfall. Eller få fart på adrenalinet med forsränning.

Utrustning till vattensporter finns på destinationer över hela landet, och många erbjuder guidade turer även på hösten.

3. Grön konst och kultur

Vill du uppleva konst och kultur på ett miljövänligt sätt? Inga problem. Många av Norges museer har certifierats som miljövänliga, och jobbar hela tiden på att minska inverkan på miljön. Under hösten hittar du nya och spännande utställningar över hela landet.

Kom ihåg att det finns många utomhusmuseer som bjuder på allt från historiska byggnader och vackra skulpturer till spännande naturattraktioner. Frisk luft ingår.

4. Minnesvärd vandring

Många norrmän trivs bäst när de får snöra på sig vandringskängorna och ge sig ut på tur. Och de delar så gärna med sig av de vackra vyerna.

Häng med på fjälltur eller fyll en korg med bär i skogen. På hösten är skogarna fulla av blåbär, lingon och hjortron.

I Norge är man aldrig långt från naturen. Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger och Trondheim omges alla av härlig vandringsterräng vid fjordar, skogar och på fjäll.

Grönare än så blir det knappast!

5. Upp på toppen

Norge är fullt av majestätiska fjäll och branta klippor. Men vågar du ta dig an någon av branterna med dina bara händer?

Det är få saker som slår känslan av att nå toppen efter en klättertur. Mängder med destinationer erbjuder klättring på hösten, och det finns guidade turer för klättrare på alla nivåer. Kom bara ihåg att vara försiktig. Att klättra utan guide rekommenderas inte för nybörjare.

Det finns också andra alternativ för dig som är höjdrädd eller reser med barn. Kliv in i rollen som Tarzan och Jane och utmana dig själv i någon av de nya och moderna klätterparkerna som byggts de senaste åren.

6. En baddare på kroken

101 388 kilometer kust. 450 000 sjöar. Och 332 olika fiskarter. Om du drömmer om att få en baddare på kroken är Norge ett hett tips.

På hösten vimlar havet av torsk, sej och hälleflundra, och i sjöarna väntar lax och öring. Det enda som krävs är tålamod och lite koll på vart du ska bege dig.

Växlande väder

Var beredd på växlande väder om du ska till Norge i höst. Precis som i Sverige kan du räkna med allt från solsken till friska vindar och regn.

Från september månad kan det bli ganska blött och ibland stormar det till rejält, särskilt vid kusten.

Men med lite tur får du vara med om vackra höstdagar och den sista sommarvärmen.

Kläder efter väder

Ta med vind- och vattentäta kläder på höstresan i Norge.

Om du ska gå på tur är det också en bra idé att klä sig i lager istället för en enda tjock tröja eller jacka. Ull håller värmen bättre än bomull och polyester.
