Join us for a three-day mountain biking adventure in the Alta Valley and on the Finnmarksvidda mountain plateau. This is the perfect trip for active groups or friends or families wishing to create great memories together on the bike seat in the nature.
The hike to the Alta Canyon is popular for good reason. The terrain is wonderful and easy to walk in and you experience magnificent views, especially when you reach the canyon. This is the perfect place to enjoy a nice lunch together, take photos and simply enjoy the view of Northern Europe's largest river canyon and the Alta River winding out towards the sea.
A canoe adventure down the Alta River is a must for anyone wishing to experience something truly wonderful! You rarely get so close to nature as you do in a canoe. There will also be nice breaks and time to relax around an open fire on the riverbank. On this trip, spending quality time together is at least as important as the nature-based experience itself.
Accommodation
GLØD Aurora Canvas Dome
Really cool, stylish accommodation where you are so close to nature that you see and hear the squirrel outside the big window of the dome. The warmth from the wood-burning stove and a nice down duvet will steer you safely through the night. If you are very lucky, you will see the Northern Lights in the sky above you from your bed.
Breakfast is included and is served in the GLØD lounge.
We can offer two or three course dinner every night. The menu varies according to the season, and we like to serve cod, lamb, reindeer, elk and salmon. Dinner must be ordered in advance.
The Aurora Canvas Domes have a small bathroom with toilet and you will find shower and sauna in the GLØD lounge about 30 m from the dome.
Our elegant Boutique Apartment for up to four (five) people is ideal for anyone who would prefer quiet and peaceful days in the pine forest in the countryside rather than staying in the town centre. You can relax and unwind in a peaceful setting where life and the time keep the same pace.

Lufthansa will start flying to Alta, direct from Frankfurt, December 2024
SAS and Norwegian operate several direct, daily flights from Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, to Alta. The flight time is approx. 1 h 50 min.
You can also fly via Tromsø. The flight time Tromsø to Alta will be 30 min.
From destinations within northern Norway, such as Tromsø, Kirkenes, Hammerfest, Båtsfjord and Vadsø, the airline company Widerøe and the bus company Boreal can be used.
